Basic Education
Good quality basic education ensures that all children have equitable access to formal and non-formal schools and the opportunity to learn crucial foundational skills such as reading and math. Education experts and donor agencies have defined “basic education” in various ways that can begin during early childhood and continue through high school. However, for the purposes of organizing IDP’s website, we have separate web pages for activities relating to pre-primary education or secondary school education.
IDP has supported initiatives in basic education in countries like Nepal, Kenya, Malawi, Bangladesh, El Salvador and elsewhere. In this sector, IDP has received funding support from donors like USAID and UNICEF Ghana. IDP also has worked with partner organizations such as Chemonics International, Education Development Center, FHI 360, RTI International, World Educaiton, and others.
