Studying Early Intervention Centers in Sarawak, Malaysia
Inclusive Development Partners (IDP) has officially completed the baseline phase of the UNICEF-supported Longitudinal Study and Impact Evaluation of Early Intervention Centers (EICs) in Sarawak, Malaysia. This study examines how EICs support young children with a range of developmental delays to build foundational skills and successfully transition into mainstream school settings.
The findings will strengthen the Sarawak Government’s commitment to early intervention as it works to improve and expand support services for young children and their families. Importantly, the study also has the potential to generate insights beyond Malaysia, particularly for contexts where early intervention systems are still emerging.
We are grateful for the collaboration with UNICEF, the Sarawak State Social Welfare Department, and our dedicated local research team. It has been deeply rewarding to learn from the vital work these Early Intervention Centers are doing to support inclusive futures for children.
