Inclusive Employment

Worldwide, persons with disabilities face higher rates of poverty, are less likely to be employed, and are more likely to work in informal labor markets. In addition, IDP’s research in Africa shows that the mothers of children with disabilities are less likely to be employed due to the lack of accessible childcare and services.

IDP applies evidence-based practices and research findings to our work in inclusive employment and vocational education training (VET).  This includes conducting policy analysis, labor market assessments, and analyzing social protection policies.  We have experience training teachers and addressing systemic barriers to support learners with disabilities in effectively transitioning to the workforce.
