Niger:
Increasing Pathways to Learning
Donor: USAID • Partner: International Rescue Committee (IRC)
Timeframe: November 2024 – February 2025
The USAID-funded Increasing Pathways to Learning (IPL) in Niger planned to enhance safe and equitable non-formal education (NFE) opportunities for 28,390 out-of-school youth aged 9-18 in the regions of Maradi, Tillaberi, Zinder, and Dosso by adopting a girl-friendly approach and equipping them with essential basic and vocational skills. The project aimed to (1) invest in, improve and evaluate most salient NFE models, (2) respond flexibly to specialized needs, and (3) test and innovate to expand reach, impact and learning continuity.
IDP planned to support IRC and local implementing partners in ensuring that IPL activities such as teacher training, curriculum development, and monitoring and evaluation integrated gender equity and social inclusion (GESI) and universal design for learning (UDL) principles.
