Inclusive Healthcare

IDP works worldwide to ensure that persons with disabilities are fully included in national programming across sectors. IDP had extensive experience training and supporting local partners and civil society actors, organizations of persons with disabilities (OPDs), donors, and government officials, and developing in-service and pre-service curricula on various topics. IDP also conducts initial training sessions among project staff, irrespective of their function, to raise awareness and buy-in for disability inclusion across all project activities.
Through our research, IDP examines how persons with disabilities access health care services and brings visibility to the compounded stigma that persons with psychosocial disabilities face. We also work to link health care and educational services, especially related to screening and identification.
We believe that teaching inclusively benefits ALL learners, irrespective of whether they have a known disability. Our team also has extensive experience supporting inclusive education from early childhood education through primary, secondary, and post-secondary education.
